ICE Presence in Flagstaff Under Consideration, Officials Say

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The Flagstaff Police Department says it has received information that federal immigration authorities may be planning to establish a presence in the city.

According to a public announcement, officials recently became aware that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is evaluating space within Flagstaff to potentially station agents. Police say the final location has not been determined, and it remains unclear whether any lease or property purchase has been completed.

Authorities emphasized that no request has been made to use City of Flagstaff property at this time. If such a request is submitted, the City Manager will review it in accordance with the city’s recently established directive governing the use of municipal property.

City officials say they have reached out to federal partners and representatives seeking additional details about ICE’s plans in the area.

“Our community is built on relationships, and we expect cooperation and transparency from our federal government,” the statement reads.

No additional information has been released.
